How eBay’s Rise in Final Value Fees Are A Good Thing… Seriously

I started an article about how eBay raising their final value fees can put extra cash in the pocket of sellers… and the article turned into an 8 page report. 🙂 I know there is a complete uproar from most sellers about the recent changes eBay is making to its policies and fee structure… but, it isn’t all bad. 1. I think it is difficult to say – because there are so many factors that contribute to the success of a niche site.

First of all… it depends on the niche you choose and what kind of demand there is for it. Secondly, you can increase your profits by marketing your site properly… some ways to do this:
    – write a couple of articles that are related to the content on your site and link back to your site in the resource/author box. Submit the articles to ezine article directories.
    – comment on blogs that have content that is relevant to what you are selling… be sure to enter the url to your website when you do – the link back will help with your google ratings.

The other thing to remember with a niche site – is that the site is reallly set on autopilot once it is set up. It isn’t something you need to pour a lot of time into once it is there.

Finally – and maybe this better answers your question…
I think that if you have a solid niche that you are getting into with your site… and if you market it properly to generate traffic to it… I think it is realistic to earn back your investment within a couple of months. With adsense alone (google’s contextual advertising), you can start earning $100 a month within a couple of months easy – you just need the visitors/traffic. One thing that is cool with BANS is they include a way to include google adsense on your niche site too. Not only are you earning eBay affliate income… but, google adsense too!
(PS. If you aren’t familiar with adsense – check out this site: http://www.snacksfortoddlers.com... Look for where it says “Ads by google” – those are all adsense ads. This site earns me about $150 a month and I spend MAYBE 15 minutes a MONTH on it! That’s $600/hour 🙂

  2. Hi Jenni:
I’ve enjoyed the e-books and info I’ve received from you over the past month or more. I’m now just getting around to the idea of the Niche Store and went to the site you recommended. They require a fairly steep start up fee (in my opinion) and I’m wondering if you have any vague recommendation as to how long it could take to earn that back, realistically?

  3. Hi Jenni,

After signing up for the newsletter, I downloaded the article about Ebay raising their final value fees, but didn’t bookmark it so that I could go back to it later. Now I can’t access it because I already signed up for the newsletter. Is it possible for you to email me with the link to the article.

Thanks for the great information, I purchased the Gold Membership with the Toy Guide last year before Christmas.
