Do You Have The Gift? Gain a 6th Sense For Finding Inventory At Yard Sales
=====================================

Have you ever noticed that some eBay sellers seem to have no trouble finding items that resell on eBay well? Some people seem to have this gift – they can go to a sale and instantly pick up a few items that end up doing really well for them on eBay… It’s like a 6th sense or something – they just have this feeling or hunch that an item might do well. Maybe you are even one of them!

Below I share 4 tips to keep in mind when you are out and stumble on something that you think may be a nice seller for you…

Before I get to them, however, I wanted to let you know about a special treat I was able to work out with Sherah Taylor over at www.Auction-Moms.com.

I just finished reading Sherah ebook again, Secrets Of Garage Sale Bargains – man, every year I read it and find a new tip to apply to my yard sale shopping. It is full of great ideas…

Learn things like:
– Which weekend is the best to catch hot moving sales
– Tips for getting a good deal even if your best offer is refused
– Why saying, “Will you take $1 for this toy?” is a no-no.
– Find out the magic words to seal the deal… almost every time!
– When the best time is to hit the sales for the best deals

The ebook sells for $17.99 – but, I was able to work out a special deal with her to offer it to my readers for only $10.

Garage sales are one of the few places you can truly buy for pennies and resell for a large profit. Look at what Sherah’s customer Lis had to say,

“I’m so glad that I purchased your Garage Sale Secrets e-book!
It has turned out to be a very worthwhile investment.

“As I read through it, I realized that I have gotten into a very bad yard sale habit. I am mostly looking for children’s clothing. Therefore, if I don’t spot nice looking children’s clothing from the road, I would often keep going. There is no telling how many treasures I have missed over the last year.

“After reading your e-book, I decided to change my ways. Last weekend I made myself stop and look at every sale, regardless of how it looked from the road. I really found some treasures!

“My find of the week: Betsy Clark NIB toy stove and toy sink from 1973. Paid $10 for the pair. Listed both on ebay separately. One ended at $171 and the other at $181. I am so excited(and so glad I stopped at that yard sale)!!!”

The $10 price is only available through Sunday, May 4th – midnight… so you will need to act quickly.

You can read more about Secrets of Garage Sale Bargains here (don’t order it from that page though!):

But, DON’T ORDER IT FROM THAT PAGE or you will be paying too much!
Here is a special link Sherah has set up for my readers to get a

Now about those tips…
Although I recommend researching eBay – applying these tips will help you find inventory without even opening a web browser. …And who knows – maybe you will end up developing that 6th sense! 😉

1. Look for things that need to be replaced – or have parts that need replacement. Games… toys… etc. that are popular but are likely to having pieces get lost easily and these pieces can resell very well.

2. Talk with kids – or better yet – take a child toy shopping with you and pay attention to what excites them. Every Christmas I have found that some of the best predictors of the best selling toys are KIDS!

3. Watch for retired or out of production (OOP) items. I have found that VHS can resell well… especially if it is OOP and not available on DVD.

4. Pay attention to movies that are coming out this summer that are remakes of an older tv show or series and watch for items that are related.

These are just a few tips to help you find inventory… to learn about how to get the absolute best deal and find some of the most demanded items at yard sales, Sherah’s ebook, Secrets To Garage Sale Bargains is a must.

Get your hands on this fabulous ebook for just $10 before it is too
late:

You Can’t Sell Without Customers

We will be covering this topic in more depth later this year… but, I wanted to touch on it real quick because even this high level overview might spark some great customers for you.

The big question for any business – and one you should be asking yourself regularly… is – How Can I Get More Customers?

[side note: Obviously, there are many ways to answer this… and, it is very easy to get lost in the sea of answers. I’m speaking from experience when I talk about how easy it is to go from method to method… never really mastering any. It wasn’t until I finally made focus a priority in my business that it started growing beyond what I could imagine. So, before we dig into this method for driving visitors/traffic/customers to your auctions – I think it is important that I quickly address this issue of focus.

My suggestion to you is to focus on learning and mastering ONE method at a time for driving traffic to your auctions. You’ll hear about new methods, technologies and the like – but, file those emails and articles away to go through once you have mastered the method you are working on. Once you have it mastered – open your folder for the next method to master… and just plow through your list one method at a time. It is easy to have information overload and this is a great way to continue to gather great info but not be overwhelmed.

With that said – don’t be overwhelmed by what I’m going to share here… if it is too much information right now – just file it away for another day. :)]

So… back to that question…
How do you drive traffic to your auctions?

Blog.

Sounds simple – and it really is… Start blogging about topics that are related to your ebay auctions and point to your listings. Blogs are very simple to set up… and posting is really as easy as sending an email!

If you are just starting out, I recommend visiting some blogs to get an idea of what blogging is all about. Then, go to www.wordpress.com or www.blogger.com and follow the instructions.

Once you have your blog set up, you’ll want to post to it regularly. It doesn’t have to be a long formal article… in fact, blogs are usually less formal in nature – many are almost like writing an email to a friend. The more you post, the more traffic you’ll get to your blog – and if you are using it to drive people to your listings, the more traffic you get to your blog translates into more visitors to your auctions!

Finally, don’t JUST use the blog to drive traffic to your auctions… you can set up Google Adsense (check out one of my blogs here: www.snacksfortoddlers.com/blog to see how I use google adsense) and earn money with contextual ads. (Learn more from google.com) – PLUS, you can promote affiliate products too! Check out clickbank (www.clickbank.com) for a huge directory of electronic products you can promote for a percentage of the sale!

Okay, I know this is a quick summary – and I promise to get more in depth in future issues of the newsletter… but, I wanted to give you something to think about – and try if you want to give it a whirl.

You Have To Have A List

I have an outline of what I want to share through this newsletter over the next few months – but, as I was going through it, I realized that you’ll really miss out if you don’t have a LIST.

You may have heard it before… “The gold is in the list”… but, do you really know what that means and how to apply it to your eBay business?

As an eBay seller there are two lists you should be building.

The first is a list of leads – these are visitors to your auctions, eBay store or website. These people have shown some interest in what you have to offer… by gathering their name and email and keeping in touch with them, you are building a list of leads that are likely to make a future sale.

Secondly, you have your customer list. It is proven that it is much easier to sell to someone who has already bought from you than it is to find a new customer. You should be keeping in touch with your customers (invite them to visit your new blog 😉 so that they keep coming back for more.

This newsletter will almost always have some sort of suggestion for building your list and/or creating more sales from your list. Of course, you can run your business without keeping a list… but, I don’t recommend it – you really are leaving a lot on the table if you do.

If you are interested in getting started with building a list – I recommend a program like Aweber for tracking and communicating with your leads and customers. Learn more at www.aweber.com
