1. Monday Madness Starts NOW!
=====================================

I had this idea at the beginning of the year to provide a cool resource every Monday for $5… A few medical emergencies put a damper on the idea – until now! 😉

Every Monday, I am going to be offering a product that is designed to help you grow your online business. These products will be offered in limited numbers for only $5… even though the regular pricing will be much higher.

To kick this off, the first report will be available all week! It starts NOW…
Right now, I am offering a limited supply of my new report about blogging to bring traffic to your auctions. We have discussed this topic before… and this report goes a little deeper and answers 10 questions many have about blogging. Here is a list of these questions…

1. What Is A Blog?
2. What Makes A Blog Different From a Regular Website?
3. What Kind Of Blog Should I Use?
4. Where Should I Host My Blog?
5. What Should My Blog Look Like?
6. What Should I Be Blogging About?
7. How Often Should I Blog?
8. How Can I Make Money With My Blog?
9. How Do I Get People To Interact On My Blog?
10. What Could I Be Missing About My Blog?
(bonus) 11. How Do I Really Get Started With My Blog?

The report is short and to the point – and is valued at $10… but, through this next week, you can get it at: www.jennihunt.com/blog for only $5.

Remember, this is going to be a regular thing. Every Monday I’ll have a new resource to help you take your eBay business to the next level… most valued at over $20 – but, all offered for $5 in limited supply.

Before you consider this report on blogging; however, check out a recent post on my blog about how you can blog for auction traffic. Here is a quick link to that post: http://jennihunt.com/blog/?p=17

Enjoy!

PS. I know I mentioned last time that we would be discussing special reports and how to use them to build your eBay business… unfortunately, a medical emergency has delayed this a bit. But… watch for it – it’s coming!

It looks like eBay is backstepping a bit on its link policy that I mentioned in the last newsletter. They had previously announced that they would no longer allow links to outside websites on About Me pages… well, it looks like they changed their minds!

Your About Me page can still have links to your own web store or website – this is great news if you are using your about me page to build a list (which you are… right?!?)

Here is a link to their policy:

Jim Cockrum did it again!
In 2002 I stumbled on his amazing ebook, The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay… and my life changed. Seriously! For days I couldn’t sleep because his book jump started my brain to think differently about my eBay business. Back then, the book was somewhere around 40-50 pages (don’t hold me to that – I’m going on memory here)… Jim just revamped the eBook and it is over 100 pages and jam packed with so much incredible information about moving your eBay business beyond just selling auctions.

If you are interested at all in learning how to ‘use’ eBay instead of depending on it for you business – this is a must read! In fact, I recommend all serious eBay sellers read it – I can almost guarantee it will completely change the way you run your business… and for the better! This book has been one of the best sellers since it’s original release years ago – and Jim continues to be one of the most respected experts out there.

You can learn more about his ebook here:

Also – Jim has a great newsletter that he just gives away! Even if you don’t get his book, be sure to get on his mailing list… you can sign up here: www.my-silent-team.com

Seller Sourcebook has provided me with some quick tips for listing auctions successfully… I’ll be running a series of them over the summer. Check out previous tips in the archives at www.jennihunt.com/blog

TIP #2: Know Your Product & Describe it Well:
Let me start this section with an analogy. Say you are in the market for a new car and you visit your local car dealership. You approach the salesman and say “what can you tell me about that car over there” as you point to one of the new cars on the lot. The salesman replies: “This is a very nice car. It is light blue with grey interior. It has four tires and one steering wheel. Thanks for looking.” What the heck! He didn’t tell you anything about the car except for what you can see for yourself by glancing at it!
This same analogy can be applied to auction listings. Sure you can, and should, give the obvious details about the item you are selling but you need to go beyond that. Anyone can look at an auction for a Hummel and see in the picture that it is a figurine of a little boy holding a puppy. As a seller it is your job to to tell the buyer all you can about the item and to answer as many potential questions as you can in your description. What year was that Hummel made? What is the name of the design? Is it a retired design or a limited production? What condition is it in? What is the Hummel reference and mold number?

What, you don’t know these details? Well it is time for you to use that internet connection and do some research! It shouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes to gather the information you need. Not knowing and/or not providing important details about your item is an auction killer! Buyers often use the Search on Title and Description function to look for the exact item they wish to purchase. Not giving specific information means when that buyer does his/her search they will never find your auction! This rule of thumb applies to everything sold on eBay be it a Hummel or a Hamburger Press.

Use descriptive words and phrases to sell your item. Running short on words; then break out your thesaurus. Don’t have a thesaurus? Then use http://www.thesaurus.com. Why just say an item is beautiful when you can pull out the thesaurus and say an item is alluring, angelic, appealing, charming, classy, dazzling, delicate, delightful, divine, elegant, enticing, excellent, exquisite, fascinating, foxy, gorgeous, graceful, lovely, magnificent, marvelous, pulchritudinous (ok, maybe not this one since most people don’t know the definition), ravishing, refined, resplendent, stunning, sublime, or superb.
