Online Creativity: Pinterest, eBay and Amazon

I received an email from Kitty, one of my subscribers this week with an excellent question. She sells on eBay and wanted to know if Pinterest would still be of value to her.

Here is my answer…if you are simply selling on eBay (Or Amazon for that matter), this might help you decide if Pinterest if for you.

The way to look at Pinterest is as an opportunity to influence your market with this new tool. Pinterest is growing so quickly and is having enough of an effect on search engine results – that it shouldn’t be ignored…

Here is one way you can use Pinterest if you are only selling physical products online and do not have awebsite of your own:
Let’s say you are selling pet care items

– You could set up your account on Pinterest with a link in your profile pointing to your eBay auctions.
– You would pin items to your Pinterest account that have to do with pets that you find… not necessarily products.
– but information ofinterest as well.- As you influence the Pinterest world and ‘pet care’ niche, those following you would be motivated to check out your profile and go to your auctions.
– In the mean time, you are building yourself as the person ofinfluence and expertise in the Pinterest community for all things related to pet care.
