2. 5 Reasons to Outsource Your Business

Hello ~

It’s back to school time already… then Halloween around the corner… um… yes, dare I say – Q4?!!
Before all that crazy hits – let’s look at some ways you can grow your business NOW.

Even if things are slow for you during these summer months, you can be putting strategies in place to grow your business… then when the crazy selling seasons come, you already have plans in place to be successful and you can focus on the selling frenzy instead of strategy.

I’ve been working on a few resources to help you with outsourcing to more productivity… but, before we dig in – I wanted to address a question I’ve been hearing quite a bit this month about wholesalers. Read on as we talk about finding inventory from wholesalers – you might be surprised how easy it is!

Enjoy!

Tips for Finding Products from Wholesalers

“How do I find a product from the many products available in a wholesale catalog?”

I’ve been talking quite a bit about wholesale lately – and it seems like those who have been doing retail arbitrage are a bit intimidated by the thought of working with wholesalers. The catalog of products from each company is completely overwhelming with sometimes hundreds of products to look through. And if you are looking at 5-10 new wholesalers a week – where do you start?

Wholesale research is really just like retail arbitrage…
really!

Let’s step back a bit and look at retail arbitrage a little closer.
Retail arbitrage is when you buy an item at a retail establishment and turn around and sell it for more online.

I always coach people who are just starting out and who are overwhelmed by all the products in a store to start small. If you are in a department store, go to one department and walk the aisles one by one… scanning as you go.

It can be easy to be discouraged if you don’t find something that looks like it has a profit or a good rank… but, don’t be! You are LEARNING… and this is cheap training! Before you know it, you will be walking into a store walking the aisles and you will know exactly what to scan and what to skip over.

It is the same thing with wholesale.
Instead of looking at all the options… focus in on a tight niche. If you are looking at sports and recreation – go tighter and look at golf or camping. If you are looking at toys… go tighter and look for preschool toys or educational. Find wholesalers who are in these tighter niches – or product lines they carry that fall under the tighter niches you are researching.

And just like in a store – start “scanning” each item one by one. Start with the A’s and go to the Z’s… if you don’t find anything right away – remember, you are being TRAINED. The time isn’t wasted. The more you research, the more you will learn and the faster you will be next time you dig into research. The key is to keep on moving and building on your momentum.

5 Reasons Why You Should Outsource Your Business
—————–

“Isn’t outsourcing expensive and difficult?”

Lots of people who are new to outsourcing ask this question.

They have heard horror stories of projects that have dragged out for months. They have heard of people getting low-quality work. There are even a few cases of people paying and getting nothing in return.

But here’s the thing: All of these horror stories happen to a tiny minority of business owners. And it often happens to those who don’t know the right way to outsource. But for those who do know the truth about outsourcing, you’ll see them singing its praises.

Truth is, NOTHING will help you grow?your business faster than a?handpicked outsourcing team!

Here are five reasons why business owners all over the world happily outsource their entire business… and why you should too:

Reason 1: You get to focus on the “high value” tasks. There’s nothing worse than spending hours doing a low-value task (like printing labels or putting tape on a box) when you have other high-value tasks on your to-do list, like building inventory or building relationships with vendors. Savvy business owners know that the key to business growth is to hand the low-value tasks to someone else so that you have time to focus on the high-value tasks.

Reason 2: A VA focused on a single task can often get better results. I don’t know about you, but I have found that when someone is focused on just a couple tasks, they develop a routine for being more efficient with the task.

Reason 3: A professional can often do it for cheaper than you. Time is money, right? So every hour you spend on a task may cost you $50, $100 or more. If you attach a dollar figure to your time and then start calculating how much it “costs” you to do a job yourself, you may be startled to discover that a professional can actually do the job for less cost than you! This can be especially true if you are creating your own private label and looking to create a logo and brand.

Example: If your time is worth $50 an hour, and it takes you three hours to develop a logo, then that article costs you $150 to do yourself. I bet you can find a competent designer to create the logo for half the cost (or even for $5-20 on Fiverr) – thereby saving you both time and money!

Reason 4: You’ll stop struggling to move forward. One of the major reasons business owners struggle to grow their business is because they spend too much time struggling with daily tasks. For example, if you are always boxing up your inventory – you’ll never be able to get to grow your business in other ways.

Point is, stop struggling. Stop trying to climb steep learning curves. Stop wasting time learning how to do frustrating tasks. Just outsource instead!

Reason 5: You’ll enjoy more free time. You don’t have to be chained to your business 24 hours a day in order for it to grow and be successful. If you outsource, you can spend just a few hours a week working in your business. And that frees you to do the things you really enjoy, like spend time with your friends and family, enjoy your hobbies and do more traveling!
