The Simple Secret – The Folder You MUST Have On Your Hard Drive

I have had more people email me this past week asking what they should be focusing on in their eBay business right now.

“Help! I don’t know where to start – I want to automate my business, start building a mailing list, get a blog going, and better build my inventory… But, there is so much good information out there I don’t know where to start!”

Sound familiar?

My guess is that every small business owner has this question at one point or another… and the answer is very simple.

It is so simple that it is often overlooked and that is why I’m calling it the “Simple Secret”.

Here are a couple tips:

1. Find a mentor or two

There are a lot of experts out there willing to help and share what they have learned or know. Find a few that you trust and stick with them! This will help keep you from ‘being tossed by the wind’ – trying to learn everything from everyone.

2. Create An Education FOlder On Your Hard Drive

This is my most precious folder on my computer! There are a handful of people that I consider mentors… and anything and everything they send me – I know, without a doubt, it is valuable and something I want to read and soak in.

The problem comes when I get a course about one topic from one mentor… and then another course from mentor #2… I lose focus and don’t get anywhere because I’m trying to do it all at the same time!

With an education folder, I just copy the pdf’s (or whatever formate the information is in) over to my education folder so I can reference it once I am focusing on that particular topic!

Here is an example…

Let’s say you are working on getting your listings all ready for the next selling season on eBay this month. You have some resources you are going through that are giving you all sorts of tips for taking pictures, coming up with the best titles, giving you strategies for pricing, etc…

But, then you get an email from me (smile) letting you know about the cool blogging course I have released to my readers. You don’t want to miss out on the Charter pricing because there is a limited number and they are going fast…

So – what do you do?

You want to stay focused because you have listings that you need ready to go soon and want them to bring in the highest bids they can… You don’t want to be distracted with a course on blogging for your eBay business right now.

But… on the other hand…

You also don’t want to miss out on the charter membership offer for the Start Here Blogging course.

Here is what I recommend doing…

If you see the value in blogging for your eBay business and really want to learn how to use a blog to not only drive traffic to your eBay auctions — but, also learn how to generate AUTOMATIC income streams from your blog… get the Start Here Blogging Course.

As the lessons come in, if you are still focused on listing your items, put them into an education folder so you can reference them later. Create a sub-folder inside your education folder for ‘blogging’ and put every lesson into that folder.

Once you have your listings ready to go and are ready to focus on blogging – pull out lesson one off of your hard drive and go through them at your own pace!

I did this very thing last year.

Jimmy D. Brown is one of my mentors – and I have no doubt that anything and everything he puts out is worth the price and valuable to me.

I took advantage of a 12 month course he was offering last year – but, just couldn’t put the time into it that I wanted to. So, I saved every lesson in my education folder… and I have been going through the course at my own pace this year.

I was glad I got in when I did – because I checked to see if the course was open to new members when I was ready to go through it and it was CLOSED!

If I hadn’t subscribed when I did and saved the lessons on my hard drive – I wouldn’t have had the lessons when I was ready to learn about the topic they addressed.

So – today’s assignment:
Create an Education Folder on your hard drive 🙂

The Charter Memberships are going fast and once they are gone – they are gone.

Enjoy!
