1. Using Niche PLR (Private Label Rights)
=====================================

We have touched on PLR previously – but, it is such a fantastic way to develop quick content for taking your eBay business (or any business) up a notch that it is worth looking into again.

Niche PLR is information that has been written previously and is offered for sale (or sometimes at no cost) for others to use as they wish. Sometimes there are no limitations as to how the content can be used… other times there are a few simple rules… but, rarely are the rules very constricting.

I’m going to use the Antique collecting ebook that I’m offering as PLR as an example. Keep in mind… these principles can be applied to virtually any market or niche!

Let’s assume you are selling antiques on eBay. Your audience is antique collectors.

You are interested in building a mailing list to take your business away from being dependent on eBay. When building a mailing list, you need two things…

1. An offer – Don’t expect people to willingly just give you their email address with nothing in return. People are more wary than ever about handing out their emails… give them some incentive – like a free report, ebook or ecourse – in exchange for signing up for your mailing list.

2. A follow-up plan – You have to have a follow up plan with your customers. It doesn’t do you any good to have a nice list of people interested in hearing from you if you never email them!

3. traffic – obviously, if you don’t have people coming to the page that has your ‘opt-in’ on it, you aren’t going to get anyone signed up on your list. (We aren’t going to touch on this point much in this article – but, we have in the past… feel free to search the blog for previous posts on this topic for more information.)

This is where the PLR ebook comes in handy.
When you get the public label rights to this book on Antique Collecting for $15… you get the book, you get the rights to claim authorship, edit, break up and use the content however you wish.

This means that you will have access to the word document for editing… and you can use this content in all sorts of ways to build your list.

For example:
1. You could edit this book and make it ‘your own’ – and then turn it around and sell it to your existing list. Add an intro with your own story about how you got into antique collecting… or share some of your own successes and sweet finds throughout the book to make it ‘your own’.

2. You could use the content in the book to create an incentive for people to sign up for your mailing list… be sure to edit it and make it your own though!

3. You could break the book into articles for a follow-up sequence for your mailing list. (This book is 170 pages long – loads of info here!) This book is broken down into sections for different regions that antiques come from (ie., French, The Americas, etc.)… each section could become it’s own article after being edited.

4. You could edit the content for your Antique Collectors blog.

One thing to remember is that every PLR program is different. Many allow you virtual free-reign for how you want to use the content… always be sure to read the terms of use and the rights agreement for each individual case just to be safe and legal.

The terms for this Antique Collecting ebook are as follows:
[NO] Can be given away as is
[YES] Can be packaged with other products
[YES] Can be edited completely and your name put on it
[YES] Can be used as web content
[YES] Can be added to membership sites
[YES] Can sell Resale Rights
[YES] Can sell Master Resale Rights

Don’t forget that you can save $40 by getting in on the PRESALE for the Holiday Toy Guide. You won’t find this anywhere else…

http://www.holidaytoyguide.com/PRESALE

Check out what Thea had to say about the Holiday Toy Guide:
“”I knew to look for ELMO, Dora, and Spider-Man, video/virtual type games (that was obvious, this generation is so techy!) thanks to Jenni’s newsletter…

I found those Spider-Man things at Kohls! They were on sale for $40, regular $70 and I had a feeling they would do well, I got home listed one with a $70 BIN, it sold within an hour! I went back and bought 2 more which sold near a hundred each, so I went and got 5 more…lol….Also, the CPKs were buy 1 get 1 at 1/2 plus I had a 15% coupon, so they ended up costing $22.50/ea. The Dora stuff, I got lucky at Sears, b/c by then they were sold out.

The trick is to go to places where people don’t go for toys usually. Benny’s, TJMaxx, Kohls, JCPenney etc…and buy what’s selling out at Toys R Us. Walmart is great for cheap toys too. I deserve some good sales, I’ve been doing decent but didn’t have what I consider a “Hot” auction after 7 months of selling cloth diapers and baby clothes, so I guess these are mine!

… I could go on and on. My sales have paid for Christmas and many other things this past month!”
~ Thea

Now is the time to start thinking
about what you are going to be selling this holiday season!

Tools For PLR Resellers

Since we are on the topic of PLR…
There are some tools that will prove to be useful if you start using PLR content.

1. F-ree PDF Creation Software: After editing the word document for a PLR product, you will need to convert it to PDF format. There are two products that I have used and have been quite happy with:
– CutePDF (www.cutepdf.com)
– PDF995 (www.pdf995.com

2. Ebook Covers: Increase your sales with an ebook cover. These covers can be brought into almost any image editing program and then just add the title of your book!
http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/e-books/104433

3. GIMP: This image editing software is comparable to the very expensive Photoshop… only it doesn’t cost anything.
http://www.gimp.org/downloads

4. Compression Software: Make your larger files smaller by ‘zipping’ them with WINRar. http://rarlab.com/

5. Alternative to MS-Word: If you don’t have word, I highly recommend the Open Office Suite (f-ree!). You can get it here:
