Can you believe that we are well into the second half of 2010?!

Usually when August hits I find myself looking back over the goals I set for the year to see what kind of progress I have made. I have to admit, since my car accident – and the many months of recovery – I haven’t quite been on the track I was hoping I would be on… things are just a bit slower. Maybe you can relate?

If so – be encouraged!

I am learning that it is alright to take things a little slower… that what really matters is FOCUS. It might take me 2 months longer than I had planned to get a new course written – but, what matters is that I stick to my plan and just go one step at a time until it is done. It might take me a week or two longer to get all my listings up – but, what matters is that I keep on plugging along until they are listed.

See, without focusing on what we are doing… and where we are going with our business, we really won’t get anywhere. If I focused on the fact that things were taking me so much longer than I had planned – I would probably get overwhelmed and just stop.

But, if I have a plan… and just keep moving forward on that plan, I’ll get where I want to be… eventually.

Reminds me of the Tortoise and The Hare story… I’d rather be the Tortoise in my business and stay the course.

With that in mind, I have been thinking of the remaining months of the year and have put together a calendar that plans out what is selling when. Now, I’m focused on the children’s item’s market/niche – if you sell children’s items, then enjoy the information I have to share 😉

If you aren’t selling children clothing, gear, toys, books, or videos… then, I encourage you to take a few minutes to make up your own calendar of what your selling season looks like for the next few months.

I have found that even if though I have this information in my head – getting it out on paper (or the computer screen) helps me stay focused and on the course.

Enjoy…
Jenni

2010 Selling Calendar For Children’s Items

AUGUST – SEPTEMBER

1. Back To School
Back to school items are going to be slowing down big time over the next few weeks. In some areas school has already started.

2. Halloween costumes pick up and can sell all the way up to Halloween; however, usually once the stores start to clearance them out, they slow down quite a bit on eBay. August is a great time to pick up used customes at garage sales and then immediately turn them around on eBay.

3. Believe it or not, holiday clothing starts showing up in hot auctions in September. Many people will buy holiday clothing for portraits… which are often being taken in the early Fall months.

OCTOBER – NOVEMBER

1. Holiday clothing will continue to sell up until Thanksgiving… then it tapers off rather quickly. The best time to sell holiday clothing for children is late September though October.

2. TOYS! Yep! Used and new toys sell well all year; however, they really start picking up for the holiday season on eBay in November.

resoure to watch for: The 2010 Holiday Toy Guide will be released mid-October!

DECEMBER – JANUARY

1. Toys continue to sell into December… and I have actually had some people tell me that their best selling time for toys was the week between Christmas and New Years!

2. Many people take these 2 months off and enjoy family. If you must work – focus on getting their spring listings ready so you are ready to go come the end of January.

2. Harnessing Your eBay Traffic with an eBook
