Garage Sale For Inventory Plan – INTRO

Talking about garage sales seems to bring up all different emotions from people. I’m not surprised by the number of people who really don’t understand how many true treasures can be found at yard sales (and I’m not talking about junky “treasures”!)

Usually those in the market for children’s items aren’t quite as picky about buying used… but, some have a hard time with the idea of buying second hand. I can understand that; however, I believe that in this economy, some of these ideas are changing.

As things get tough financially, more people are turning to buying used so they can save and continue to enjoy some of the other things they appreciate about their lifestyle still. This is really good news for eBay sellers because it means that more people are turning to places where they can get things used – and eBay is one of the top hit resources available!

So, whether you have always looked for used items… or are just starting out – the Garage Sale Plan series we are doing is designed to give you a strategy to get your hands on quality inventory in a time efficient manner… and with the least amount of money invested.

In a few days we will start looking at the first thing I do when I am planning to hit garage sales… for now, I want to wet your appetite so you can see the kinds of goodies you can find.

Here is an auction for a Little Tikes Activity Garden and Buzz Mailbox that I find regularly at yard sales. You can easily pick up the activity garden for $10-15 and the mailbox for $5. And often, they are found at the same sale! This auction has them in a lot that is going for more than $60 with a few hours left. (The item number for this auction is: 160427416362)

Another… Look at this one: Medela Pump In Style – I picked one up at a yard sale for $50. Check out this list of auctions – Many selling for way over $100! (http://tinyurl.com/23w7bsd)

I could go on and on… We found a paper grocery bag stuffed with GI JOE action figures and accessories for $5… a huge bin of Star Wars figures and ships for $10 (the bin would have sold for that without any of the toys in it!)… A box full of girls costumes for $5 – including Disney, Dorothy, etc.

You can find these kinds of deals too. You just have to know how to plan a strategy and what to look for. After going through this short series, you’ll have a plan in place and you’ll be ready for the busiest yard sale season of the year.
